The Virginia Beach Convention & Visitors Bureau has an immediate opening for a talented, driven Media & Communications Coordinator (Website Manager) who will assist the Visit Virginia Beach marketing team in managing the tourism website platform, managing website accuracy and audits/edits, building out content on web platforms, working with divisional leaders for any additions or changes to the website, completing uploads from Simpleview as needed, managing email marketing campaigns, manage website reporting, and more as needed.

Reporting to the Director of Social Media and Content, the Media & Communications Coordinator I administers and monitors all Convention and Visitors Bureau's (CVB's) website marketing efforts, which includes the development of web content and some influencer marketing content to encompass all CVB divisions: sports marketing, meetings and conventions, international, group tour, leisure, convention center, and economic vitality portfolio teams. This position serves as an internal digital marketing manager for each CVB division and is one of the primary points of contact for website changes and updates, ensuring quality control and monitoring, sharing any variances to scope and cost.

We are looking for a well-rounded professional who has a passion for marketing and who is equally comfortable behind the computer managing and editing the main hub of marketing for Visit Virginia Beach. Strict brand guidelines will be in place and at the forefront of all changes to the website. Divisional communication within the bureau will be a measurement of success for the right candidate. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and your ability to translate and convey complex information to a broad audience will help you build and maintain stakeholder relationships.

DUTIES

  • The position will manage the Visit Virginia Beach website, both frontend content and backend interfaces in conjunction with VVB /IT Department.
  • Work will include cross-divisional projects as directed by supervisor.
  • Ongoing edits, audits and content uploading and changes will happen daily.
  • This role is expected to perform website analysis, organizing and presenting insights for monthly, quarterly, and annually and ad hoc reports for internal and external reviews.
  • This position will take a lead on content uploading and management for the website.
  • This position will oversee data analytics and performance for email marketing campaigns.
  • The position will be a liaison for marketing and other divisions within the CVB.
  • Assist in monitoring social media channels to ensure we are up to date on trends and proactive in times of need such as inclement weather, emergencies, etc. This position will be responsible for multi-tasking project requests and completions.
  • This position will be responsible for adhering to all brand guidelines and enforcing these guidelines on the website as well as within email marketing platform. This position is a brand expert.
  • This position will work heavily in WordPress, Simpleview and Act-On software platforms.
  • Attend special and regularly scheduled meetings with internal Division leaders and approved agency / vendor partners to manage projects and develop and manage marketing campaigns
  • This position will work in WORD, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • This position will handle other duties and tasks as needed as part of the MarCom team at Visit Virginia Beach.
