Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with team leads on the planning and implementation of marketing campaigns for free and low-cost TMC Arts programs.
  • Liaises with marketing, graphic design, and artistic partners, as well as advertising vendors, providing direction and feedback on copy, design elements, social media strategies and related materials.
  • Creates project timelines and manages deadlines for the development of assets and marketing campaign deliverables.
  • Helps maintain and track marketing budgets.
  • Oversees individual marketing initiatives, working with team leads to provide input on activities such as creative content and materials used in marketing, eblasts and social media campaigns.
  • Traffics assets for traditional and digital advertising campaigns.
  • Drafts advertising and promotional copy for marketing campaigns.
  • Builds eblasts, including newsletters and program-specific communications, as assigned by the Assistant Vice President, Brand and Marketing Communications and the Assistant Vice President, Ticketing and Marketing Strategy, coordinating with the Director, Marketing Strategy and E-Commerce.
  • Under the guidance of the head of media relations, drafts media materials, including pitch letters and background information for media outreach, and pitches media for coverage of events and other activities.
  • Provides onsite staffing of events and performances, working with media, photographers, and videographers in attendance and providing support as needed.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated project management and organizational skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a team member and collaborate with internal and external partners.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, journalism, marketing or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in marketing communications, public relations, media relations, journalism and digital communications preferred.
  • Experience working with arts organizations, museums or other comparable cultural institutions is highly desirable.
  • Critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as creativity, to support the development of marketing and communications plans.
  • Experience with Photoshop, Canva and video editing software is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate information and ideas clearly and professionally.
  • Strong technical aptitude, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies, tools, and techniques.
