The Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) has an opening for a secretary in our marketing department. This position assists marketing, admissions, graphic design and special events teams with application inquiries, website updates, event management, and more!

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalency required
  • Bachelor's degree in communications or related field preferred
  • 1-3 years office experience required, 3-5 years office experience preferred
  • Must have exemplary secretarial skills, including word processing, typing and proofreading
  • Must have exemplary customer service skills
  • Must have strong communication skills
  • Must have strong computer skills in Word, Database and Spreadsheet software programs
  • Desktop publishing, web-based publishing and survey software skills preferred
  • Must be able to work occasional nights and weekends to support CCIU events
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Greet visitors, answer phones, respond to inquiries, and resolve issues based on established organizational policies, making appropriate referrals as needed.
  • Perform a wide variety of administrative tasks including data entry and the drafting, editing, and revision of various marketing and communications projects.
  • Support the videography and graphic design process by coordinating project requests, managing timelines, and trafficking materials between team members and stakeholders.
  • Assist with vendor management and coordinate orders for promotional materials, ensuring timely delivery and accurate recordkeeping.
  • Assist the admissions team with application inquiries, prospective family communications, enrollment documentation, and related data entry.
  • Assist in the preparation and coordination of special events, which may include logistics, contracts, hospitality, and staffing.
  • Provide service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible, and professional engagement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Salary Range: Support Hay, Band 10, Nonexempt
  • 2025-26 Rate: $21.47- $26.84/hr
  • 2026-27 Rate: $22.50- $29.82/hr
  • Placement on salary scale dependent upon years of experience in similar role
Schedule
Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. 12-month position (260 days). Evening and weekend hours are required periodically to support special events.

Created in 1971 by the Pennsylvania General Assembly, the Chester County Intermediate Unit is a regional educational service agency that exists to provide quality, cost-effective services to the community and its residents. The Chester County Intermediate Unit administers instructional, enrichment and administrative programs and services to Chester County’s 12 public school districts, and to over 45 private and parochial schools in the county. These programs include instructional, remedial and enrichment services for regular and special education students and career and technical education programs for secondary and post-secondary students. The CCIU provides direct instruction to over 5,000 students a year and support services to an additional 30,000 students a year. In addition, the IU supports teachers, school administrators, school directors and school districts through a multitude of services, including, but not limited to: business and administrative services, communications services, technology services and human resources. The diversity of CCIU programs enables IU staff to interact with school district personnel at all levels and to maintain a cohesive educational network throughout Chester County.
