Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the graphic design of print and digital advertisements, billboards, digital sign graphics, fliers, posters, brochures, newsletters, programs, social media and email graphics, presentations, reports, etc.
  • Will also be responsible for maintaining and updating branding guidelines for the department, as well as creating new brands/logos when necessary.
  • Marketing Research: Performs marketing research for the department and assists with the coordination of marketing efforts.
  • Collateral: Design marketing materials for a department or division including brochures, fliers, direct receptions, and other special events.
  • Events: May assist with planning and implementation of ground breakings, grand openings, dignitary receptions, and other special events.
  • Communications: Responsible for creating, writing, printing, mailing, distributing a variety of customer communication tools, including newsletters, direct mails, events, calendars, brochures, surveys, websites, meetings and photography and video.
  • Advertising: Creates, assists with design and places advertising as a appropriate within budgets, matching and key messages with target audiences using appropriate medium (billboard, print, trade publications, TV radio).
  • Marketing Plans: Research, plans, writes, budgets, implements and analyzes marking plans to deliver key messages to target audiences using a variety of communication tools as appropriate within budget and timeframes to accomplish goals.
  • Performs other administrative duties or projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in:
  • - Graphic Design
  • - Film/Video Production
  • - Communications or a related field
  • Two year’s of experience in marketing and graphic design/video production
  • Understanding of
  • - Design principles (layout, typography, color)
  • Video basics (cutting, pacing, audio, exporting formats)
  • Expertise with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud including Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere, After Effects. Some Canva knowledge.
  • Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License.
  • Ability to work on site 20 hrs. a week between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday – Friday. Open to work some weekends.

Preferred

  • A Portfolio Demonstrating Graphic design work (social media posts, posters, branding, etc.)
  • Video projects (short edits, reels, or class/personal projects)
  • Doesn’t need to be professional work—but should show creativity and effort
