Job Summary

Own and coordinate the DNA Doe Project’s public voice across social, content creation, and donor engagement, translating complex data into accessible storytelling while supporting fundraising and protecting privacy in victim-centered stories.

  • Content creation and storytelling: translate data into clear public messaging with consistent brand voice.
  • Fundraising support: back donor campaigns and event promotion to drive awareness and engagement.

Job Description

  • Social Media & Community Engagement: Supporting a social media strategy across platforms (e.g., Facebook, X/Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn).
  • Social Media & Community Engagement: Create and publish posts that highlight case updates, organizational news, educational content, volunteer spotlights and other in partnership with the Director of Media and Communications.
  • Social Media & Community Engagement: Uphold ethical standards in sharing sensitive information related to unidentified individuals and active investigations.
  • Content Creation & Storytelling: Work with leadership to translate complex data into accessible public messaging.
  • Content Creation & Storytelling: Maintain brand consistency, voice, and visual identity across all channels.
  • Content Creation & Storytelling: Create and distribute newsletter to donors, partners, and other supporters.
  • Content Creation & Storytelling: Contribute to website updates and digital resources.
  • Fundraising Support: Collaborate with development teams to support fundraising campaigns and donor appeals.
  • Fundraising Support: Promote events, campaigns, and volunteer recruitment initiatives.
  • 3+ years experience in marketing, communications, digital media, journalism, or a related field.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Experience managing organizational social media accounts.
  • Strong understanding of brand voice and visual communication.
  • High emotional intelligence and sensitivity when handling victim-centered stories.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote, collaborative environment.
  • Prior experience in crisis communication or sensitive-case media handling.
  • Basic graphic design skills (Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, etc.).
  • Familiarity with content analytics tools and SEO best practices.
  • Experience of utilizing marketing to support development efforts.
  • Mission-driven mindset and passion for helping unidentified individuals regain their names.
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized.
  • Ethical judgment and respect for privacy and trauma-informed practices.
  • Creative, proactive, and able to work collaboratively with marketing and development team members.
