Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a current listing of all resident care employee phone numbers
  • Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the facility's public relations and marketing programs and activities to increase census and provide community information about the facility, programs, services, and practices
  • Develop and maintain written policies and procedures governing the release of information concerning residents, employees, and the facility per privacy rules and regulations
  • Assist department directors in marketing and public relations policy development and dissemination, fostering interdepartmental understanding of marketing roles
  • Review marketing and public relations policies and procedures annually and update as necessary
  • Assist in development, implementation, and tracking of customer satisfaction surveys
  • Interpret policies governing release of information to employees, residents, family, visitors, and government agencies
  • Ensure public information materials describing services are accurate and descriptive; ensure employees follow information release policies
  • Organize ongoing internal communications via bulletin boards, house organs, committee meetings, newsletters, brochures, and public announcements
  • Schedule and participate in departmental meetings on marketing and public relations programs and activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university, or equivalent (Five (5) years experience in marketing/public relations in a health care setting may be recognized in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite products
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and employees
  • Interpret resident rights to the resident, family, and staff personnel as necessary or appropriate
  • Mathematical skills: ability to apply fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
  • Reasoning abilities: ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Prolonged use of a desk top or laptop computer; occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
