Responsibilities

• Works with the CCO, Marketing and Business Development Manager, and leaders to create a proactive communications program aligned with strategic objectives
• Develops story/content priorities and outreach strategies to build thought leadership, including media placements, bylined articles, newsletters, alerts, events, multimedia
• Creates and repurposes content for external communications across platforms
• Writes press releases, internal communications and other media collateral as needed
• Plans and executes awards submissions, nominations, thought leadership events, and social media contributions
• Identifies opportunities on external PR channels to achieve goals
• Seeks opportunities to place attorneys/stories in client-facing media
• Provides strategic support for internal/external programs and designs collateral for handouts, intranet, presentations, and white papers
• Coordinates with attorneys and marketing staff to develop office/practice-specific marketing plans and researches community relations opportunities
• Provides media relations support, including pitching, interviews, and talking points prep

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required
• 7–10 years of PR experience in a law firm, professional services, or business/legal journalism
• Track record of successful media placements and thought leadership
• Strong writing portfolio translating complex topics into compelling copy
• Solid media relationships and ability to manage PR risk with guidance to leaders
• Experience with Cision or similar PR databases
• Proficiency with Windows software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
• Experience with social media channels (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube)
• Proficiency with using AI for writing/research tasks
• In-office four days a week and reports to the Chief Communications Officer

Preferred

• Excellent writing/copyediting skills, with business/legal writing experience
