Job Summary

Assist in creating and organizing field stories and media, supporting social content, press materials, and donor communications while gaining exposure to nonprofit operations and fundraising.

  • Content Capture & Story Elevation: photograph/video capture at events and collaborate to transform field stories into shareable content.
  • Content Development: help craft social media, digital content, and marketing materials that highlight community impact.
  • Asset Management & Operations: organize media assets and contribute ideas to improve communication strategies.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Assist in capturing content (photos, videos, short-form storytelling) at events and programs
  • Support development of social media and digital content as well as other marketing materials, including press releases, donor solicitations, etc.
  • Help organize and maintain media assets for organizational use
  • Collaborate with communications staff to elevate stories from the field
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving communication strategies
  • Gain exposure to nonprofit operations, fundraising, and community engagement strategies
  • Receive feedback and guidance to support career development

Requirements

  • Current college student majoring in philanthropy, nonprofit management, marketing or communications (valid college enrollment required)
  • Track record of producing compelling written, digital, and visual content (press releases, op-eds, social campaigns, reports, toolkits)
  • Proficiency with Canva (or similar design tools), website content management systems and social media platforms
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with ability to adjust voice and tone for different audiences
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail and deadlines
  • Comfort with video and photography (using a mobile phone) and basic photo editing for event and social media use
  • Ability to collaborate with a small, supportive team while also working independently
  • Experience in marketing, communications, nonprofit management or a related field (preferred but not required)
