Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Support implementation of media strategies to raise awareness of our nonprofit organization's mission, programs, and initiatives; evaluate campaign results.
  • Serve as a coordinator of the Foundation’s social media properties, helping with content planning, scheduling, monitoring engagement and coordinating responses to questions/comments.
  • Maintain and update Marketing-Communications editorial calendar.
  • Support the day-to-day maintenance of and monitoring social media; work with the Digital Director and others to analyze digital media performance metrics and compile regular reports on key metrics, trends, and insights to drive improvements and measure success.
  • Utilize web-based tools (e.g. Sprout Social, HubSpot) to support digital marketing efforts.
  • Collaborate cross-departmentally and with external vendors and agencies on larger projects, including marketing/conference campaigns and collateral, publications such as our annual impact report, media outreach and coordination, and more.
  • Lend editorial assistance to produce compelling content for community outreach.
  • Maintain and update database of community influencers, ambassadors, bloggers and other community partners. Support partner content development.
  • Collaborate closely with the Foundation’s programs, including Quality of Life Grants, Information Specialists, Peer & Family Support Program and Outreach and Education on initiatives throughout the year.
  • Provide support for drafting and editing media alerts, web content, blogs, newsletters, social media content and other publicity and promotional materials. Maintain consistent messaging and tone across platforms.
  • Assist with planning and execution of awareness campaigns, such as Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Awareness Month and Caregiver Awareness Month.
  • Lend support to the planning and promotion of the annual Reeve Summit.
  • Provide as-needed communications support (occasionally in-person) at NPRC exhibiting opportunities, grantee site visits, etc.
  • Ensure all work is consistent with established brand guidelines, applicable policies, and compliance standards.
  • Stay up to date with traditional and digital media trends, emerging platforms, and best practices.
  • Periodic Responsibilities Include: - Participate in programmatic site visits to capture and produce communications content. - Volunteer at Reeve events to help with tasks other than Marketing & Communications - Participate in Reeve event committee meetings.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree and 1-3 years’ experience working for a non-profit, corporate, or agency, or equivalent combination.
  • Understanding of media platforms, including social media.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for nonprofit work and a commitment to making a positive impact.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. on occasion.
  • Approximately 10-20% travel to local, regional, or national conferences and partner sites.
  • Microsoft Office 365
  • Canva
  • Third-party social media platforms and tools (Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, Sprout Social, etc.).
  • Google web tools (Analytics, Google Ads, etc.)

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with CMR, CMS (particularly HubSpot and WordPress) and/or other website and customer relationship management platforms and systems
  • Working knowledge of HTML
  • Basic knowledge of web accessibility and data privacy standards
