Job Description

Responsibilities

  • You will serve as the central connection between the client, the product, and the business, translating customer insights, competitive intelligence, and financial objectives into concrete portfolio decisions.
  • You will guide the product from early strategy and definition through development, launch readiness, and Market Equation.
  • Success requires balancing exceptional customer understanding with disciplined business performance.
  • You will direct recommendations on product content, positioning, pricing, series strategy, volume, and cost, helping improve gross margin and return on investment while strengthening Lincoln’s long-term brand.
  • Product Lifecycle Strategy: Guide the product across its lifecycle, from early product concepting and through all development milestones. Define the product’s role within the Lincoln portfolio, including its target client, competitive set, showroom position, and relationship to adjacent vehicles.
  • Client Insights: Partner with Consumer Insights and regional teams to conduct research and translate qualitative and quantitative findings into clear product requirements. Advocate for the client during decisions involving design, vehicle attributes, technology, and pricing.
  • Positioning and Offering Strategy: Develop a differentiated product value proposition grounded in Lincoln’s brand strategy. Lead the product offering strategy, including series, packages, options, powertrain choices, and feature availability. Optimize product complexity by balancing customer choice, manufacturing efficiency, cost, and revenue.
  • Financial and Business Performance: Co-lead the product’s Market Equation and business case with Finance and Pricing teams. Develop recommendations covering pricing, net revenue, volume, mix, material cost, contribution margin, and EBIT. Evaluate investments based on customer value, strategic portfolio alignment, and expected return.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Facilitate decisions across Design, Engineering, Program Management, Finance, and Manufacturing. Present concise, executive-ready recommendations that articulate the required decision, alternatives considered, financial implications, and proposed path forward.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Product Management, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience guiding a product through multiple stages of its development and commercialization lifecycle.
  • Strong financial acumen, including experience with business cases, pricing, revenue, volume, margin, and return analysis.
  • Proven ability to synthesize customer research, competitive intelligence, and financial data into actionable recommendations.
  • Track record of leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing decisions without formal authority.
  • Strong written, verbal, and visual communication skills, capable of presenting complex decisions clearly to senior leadership.
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguity, adapt to changing assumptions, and maintain momentum against critical milestones.

Preferred

  • MBA, master’s degree, or advanced training in marketing, strategy, finance, or product management.
  • Experience in automotive, luxury goods, consumer technology, or another capital-intensive product category.
  • Background working on a globally marketed product or coordinating decisions across multiple regions.
  • Experience with platform-based product development, shared architectures, or technology migration plans.
  • Familiarity with milestone-driven product development systems or structured commercialization frameworks.
  • Experience partnering directly with Design and Engineering to translate customer needs into technical requirements and product tradeoffs.
