Drive the national events program for a legal marketing team, owning end-to-end event planning and execution from strategy to post-event follow-up.

  • Own end-to-end event lifecycle, from objective definition to post-event recap.
  • Must-have: Minimum five years of event experience in legal marketing or professional services.
  • Standout: Cross-functional coordination with stakeholders and use of AI to optimize run-of-show.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define business development objectives and determine if and what type of event would best meet the defined objectives.
  • Drive comprehensive pre-planning and coordination, including project plans, timelines, venue sourcing and selection, contract negotiation, projected budget, and collaboration with key stakeholders and business services teams. Coordinate planning calls, event materials, invitee list, invitation, registration, and timely reporting.
  • Execute events with precision by partnering closely with venue staff, event platforms, or office services; oversee A/V production, room setup, and event materials; manage speakers and guest experience; coordinate event timing, staffing, and on-site logistics to ensure seamless delivery.
  • Utilize project management and AI to find process efficiencies — including timelines, agendas, and detailed run-of-show to define scope. Ensure clear communication across all phases of an event.
  • Manage post-event activities, including CRM to capture attendance and metrics, thank you communications, feedback, invoice/budget reconciliation, and post-event recap.
  • Track event performance, including key metrics and ROI. Analyze data to shape future programming.
  • Support a range of event formats, including in-person content programming, CLE webinars (MS Teams, ON24), seminars, receptions, and other client-facing programs.
  • Participate as an active member of the national events team, contributing to cross-functional coordination, process improvement, and shared best practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of event experience in legal marketing or professional services required.

Preferred

  • Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) certification is desirable.
  • Knowledge of U.S. venues and vendors preferred.
  • Familiarity with top-level business service output in the legal industry, competitor benchmarking, and industry trends to aid in the development of events preferred.
