Job Summary

Own donor communications and stewardship rhythm for a college advancement team, coordinating multichannel campaigns, donor storytelling, and high touch correspondences for leadership and major giving programs.

  • Campaign Production: End-to-end multichannel fundraising content from email to direct mail, social, and digital pieces, with cross-functional collaboration.
  • Content + Stewardship Engine: Manage donor stories, stewardship mailings, and donor recognition to drive ongoing engagement and giving cadence.
  • Data & Segmentation: Shape audience segmentation and data needs to optimize fundraising results across campaigns and giving days.

Job Description

  • Collaborate with the Director of Advancement Communications, in the end-to-end production of multichannel fundraising campaigns, including producing content for email, direct mail, one-pagers, social media, digital aspects, and other communications pieces as needed.
  • Administer, develop content for, optimize, and maintain web pages and giving pages related to fundraising on the Advancement websites.
  • In collaboration with the Director of Adv. Communications, develop strategy around audience segmentation and managing data requirements to optimize fundraising efforts.
  • Partner with the Director and the College’s editorial staff to strategize and create fundraising content and advertisements for Barnard Magazine.
  • Collaborate with other departments and colleagues to collect donor and student impact stories for use in stewardship and giving appeals.
  • Author personalized acknowledgment letters, congratulatory and condolence letters, and other bespoke items of correspondence on behalf of the President, VP of Advancement, and other senior staff, as needed.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of stewardship events, including planning programming, selecting speakers, marketing, and outreach to donors and participants, as well as maintaining project timelines and coordinating logistics such as invitations, mailing lists, and seating.
  • Coordinate student thank-you notes and stewardship communications.
  • Assist with coordination and creation of stewardship communications, including donor newsletters and initiatives to complement annual giving campaigns and optimize donor recognition.
  • Produce several high-level stewardship mailings per year, including conceptualizing, sourcing materials, managing vendor relationships, producing mailing lists, managing purchase order submissions, maintaining project timelines, and other special projects as needed, including Presidential stewardship efforts.
