Job Description Summary
Makerspace Creative Assistants will help the daily operation of the Wilson Library Makerspace, an experiential learning space. This position is responsible for supporting the usage of 3D printers, laser cutter, Button Maker, Cricut, Arduino. No prior experience required. Training will be provided.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of computer programs such as: Google Suite and Microsoft Office. Interested in learning new skills and technology. Organized, detail-oriented, and accountable with a well-developed self-management skill set. Utilize strong written and oral communication skills to build strong supportive working relationships with faculty, staff, and students. Ability to take initiative, work independently, problem-solve, and adapt quickly in a busy work environment. Must be a current ULV student.
Preferred Qualifications
Technologically savvy. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Lightroom) Enjoys creating/making (i.e. DIY projects, crafting, painting, drawing, sewing, etc.) Knowledge of media such as photography, video shooting/editing.
Work Schedule
This position will require a minimum of 6 hours per week and may require students to work nights and weekends. We offer flexible work hours, based on the student worker’s availability. This is an on-campus position.
