Position Overview
West Coast Trial Lawyers is seeking a Legal Research & Content Writer to research legal and consumer-focused topics and produce informative, well-researched articles for publication across the firm's digital platforms. This role is ideal for a writer with strong research abilities, excellent attention to detail, and a passion for journalistic storytelling.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth research on legal, regulatory, and consumer-related topics
  • Research state-specific laws, statutes, regulations, and public-interest issues
  • Write clear, engaging, and informative long-form articles and blog posts
  • Translate complex legal concepts into reader-friendly content for a general audience
  • Verify facts and ensure all published content is accurate and properly sourced
  • Utilize government resources, public records, and reputable sources to support research findings
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify content opportunities and editorial priorities
  • Stay informed on legal developments, legislative changes, and industry trends
  • Revise and edit content based on feedback while maintaining editorial standards
  • Manage multiple writing projects and meet established deadlines
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Journalism, English, Communications, Political Science, Public Policy, Legal Studies, or a related field preferred
  • 2+ years of professional writing, journalism, editorial, research, legal writing, or content creation experience
  • Exceptional written communication and storytelling skills
  • Strong research and analytical abilities with the ability to synthesize complex information
  • Experience conducting independent research and fact-checking information
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Experience writing legal, policy, regulatory, or consumer-focused content is strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices is a plus
  • Onsite only. This position is not eligible for remote or hybrid work
Hourly Range: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
