Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end sourcing lifecycle activities for complex, high-risk, and strategic Marketing and Public Affairs supplier engagements, including marketing technology (MarTech), advertising technology (AdTech), digital media, creative services, communications, research, events, sponsorships, and related technology-enabled services.
  • Develop and execute category strategies across the MarTech stack - enterprise marketing clouds, customer data platforms (CDPs), customer engagement and journey orchestration, marketing analytics and attribution, content and digital asset management, personalization, and generative AI marketing tools - that optimize costs, improve supplier performance, mitigate risk, and support enterprise business objectives.
  • Lead MarTech stack assessment and rationalization initiatives, identifying overlapping capabilities, underutilized licenses, and consolidation opportunities across the marketing technology portfolio.
  • Review expiring Marketing and Public Affairs agreements, identify opportunities for supplier consolidation, service improvements, cost reduction, and value creation, and support timely renewals or competitive sourcing events.
  • Lead all aspects of supplier negotiations, including development of MarTech category and negotiation strategies, vendor communications, proposal evaluations, and award recommendations.
  • Negotiate modern SaaS and consumption-based commercial models, including monthly-active-user (MAU), message-volume, credit-based, and usage-based pricing structures, true-up mechanics, renewal caps, service credits, and professional services terms.
  • Negotiate AI-specific contract provisions, including AI and generative AI usage rights, restrictions on use of company and customer data for model training, model transparency and explainability obligations, and responsible AI commitments.
  • Negotiate commercial, operational, legal, governance, and risk-related terms - including data processing agreements, data residency, subprocessor management, security requirements, and exit and data portability provisions - while balancing stakeholder objectives, speed to market, and enterprise risk tolerance.
  • Draft, review, and manage contract language to address evolving business, technology, regulatory, and market requirements.
  • Manage strategic supplier relationships throughout the contract lifecycle, driving performance, customer satisfaction, service improvements, and value realization.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of Sourcing, Procurement experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

Preferred

  • 5+ years of experience drafting, reviewing, interpreting, and negotiating complex commercial contracts, with a strong understanding of contract terms, conditions, risk management principles, and commercial impacts.
  • Comprehensive sourcing and contract negotiation experience supporting Marketing and Public Affairs categories, including marketing technology, digital media, creative agencies, communications, public relations, research, events, sponsorships, and related technology-enabled services.
  • Category expertise across the enterprise MarTech landscape, including marketing clouds and automation platforms, customer engagement and journey orchestration platforms, and content, creative, and digital asset management technologies.
  • Experience sourcing customer data platforms and marketing data infrastructure, including negotiation of data privacy, data residency, and data governance terms for platforms handling customer PII.
  • Knowledge of digital media and AdTech supply chains, including programmatic platforms, media agency compensation models, principal-based buying disclosures, and media transparency and audit rights.
  • Experience negotiating AI and generative AI provisions in supplier agreements, including data-training restrictions, AI usage rights, model governance, and responsible AI requirements.
  • Proven success leading end-to-end strategic sourcing engagements and supplier negotiations within a large, complex, highly regulated organization.
  • Ability to advise Marketing and Public Affairs stakeholders on supplier strategy, contract structure, sourcing approach, MarTech stack rationalization, risk considerations, and supplier performance opportunities.
  • Strong commercial, financial, benchmarking, and spend analysis capabilities - including SaaS license utilization analysis and third-party pricing benchmarks with the ability to develop data-driven sourcing and negotiation strategies.
  • Ability to effectively manage cross-functional stakeholders, including Legal, Risk, Finance, Technology, Information Security, Third Party Risk Management, and senior business leaders.
