Job Description
We are the Experience Agency Making Unforgettable Stories Born of Humanity
NOT JUST EXPERIENTIAL. EXPERIENCE.
The lines have blurred. People live in the physical, digital, and social worlds all at once, and your brand experiences should do the same.
NOT JUST TELLING. MAKING.
The best stories are lived, not heard. Make an immersive world for people to explore so they can experience something they’ll never forget.
NOT JUST CONSUMERS. HUMANS.
It all starts with the human. If you want to make a lasting impact, look beyond the wallet to understand what motivates and inspires people.
As our Lead Software Engineer, you will set technical direction for a team or product at XT, whether internal AI tools, client-facing platforms, or packaged services, and make the engineers around you better at building it.
Just as important, you will work across the business. You will sit with teams in different departments, learn how they actually operate, and find where agentic thinking can take real work off their plate. You will help shape the architecture and standards behind all of it, in close partnership with our SVP of Engineering and lead architect.
To thrive in this role, you will leverage your experience shipping real products end-to-end and be excited to lead the delivery of an ambitious AI roadmap. You set a high bar for execution, move quickly, and bring your team along with you to achieve meaningful results.
About the Team
GMR’s Experience Technology team builds the software behind the world’s biggest brand experiences, including our flagship Orchestrate platform for guest registration, hospitality, event execution, and asset management. We are now putting AI at the center of that work: product features that run on AWS Bedrock, an engineering org that builds with Claude Code and agentic tooling, and Microsoft 365 automations that change how the company operates day to day.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Lead AI initiatives end to end. You will define the architecture roadmap for your team or product and retire designs that no longer fit. You will take a project from an ambiguous business goal to shipped software. You will frame the problem, choose the approach, make the trade-offs, and stand behind the outcome.
- Help shape the AI architecture. You will decide how the team uses AI coding tools, agents, and AI features, with evaluation, cost, and risk in view. You will partner with the SVP of Engineering and lead architect on how we use AWS Bedrock, RAG and agentic patterns, evaluation pipelines, and production guardrails, then lead the work that puts it into practice.
- Define how the team builds in an AI-native way. You will establish agentic coding workflows with Claude Code, reusable skills and standards, and the review gates that keep AI-generated code production-grade.
- Grow the engineers around you. You will raise the bar by example, mentor through pairing and review, and turn your judgment into standards the team can reuse.
- Bring cost into planning. You will explain technical risks to Product and the Enablement Office (EO), our project management group, in terms of dates and money. You will sit with teams across GMR to understand how they operate, find where agentic thinking can remove real work, and translate what you hear into things worth building.
- Set the technical bar on your projects. You will lead design and code reviews, contribute to system design, and help weigh build versus buy.
- Turn strategy into delivery. You will work closely with the VP of AI, VP of Product Operations, and EVP of Product, stay close to the people using what you build, and keep the team pointed at outcomes.
