Are you a strategic communicator and team player who enjoys coming up with creative ideas, supporting business objectives and taking a proactive approach to communications? Join the Sikorsky communications team within Lockheed Martin Rotary and Mission Systems (RMS) business area for an exciting role supporting the Global Commercial and Military Systems (GCMS) market segment and other market segments and priorities in the Sikorsky business.
The Work
Reporting to the Sikorsky Communications Sr. Manager, the Integrated Communications Strategist is a multi-channel communicator who is responsible for developing and executing communications strategies that enhance and protect the reputation of Sikorsky’s military and commercial products and customer support capabilities. This includes the S-92 and S-76 helicopters and sustainment and capabilities across the Sikorsky portfolio.
In addition, this senior communications representative will lead and support communications for key trade shows and proactive internal and external communications strategies across the Sikorsky portfolio.
The ideal candidate is a multi-channel communications expert who is creative, resourceful, proactive and operates with velocity. Collaboration is critical in this role, which involves project managing across communication functions (media relations, digital media, government affairs, marketing, visual communications, employee communications) to develop and execute communications plans to support business goals and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and lead the execution and measurement of an integrated channel, strategic communications plan – aligned with business priorities - to include executive, employee, social media, earned media, and marketing communications
Who We Are
  • Support rapid response and crisis communications for the GCMS portfolio
  • Lead and support key trade shows and proactive internal and external communications strategies
  • Demonstrate creativity; regularly share innovative ideas, spot industry topics trending in the news cycle, and identify process transformation opportunities
  • Proactively identify, vet and secure strategic external opportunities (e.g. media interviews, opportunities at industry events, community events, etc.)
  • Develop and foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customer public affairs and journalists
This is a hybrid role that will require attendance onsite approximately two days a week and/or as business needs require. Due to mission requirements, the successful candidate will be based at our site in Stratford, Connecticut.
