Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute LexLab’s media strategy, including campaigns tied to LexLab’s mission, identification of effective communication channels, and an editorial calendar aligned with LexLab’s programming.
  • Proactively source stories from LexLab’s programming and community, to support media campaigns and increase visibility.
  • Create multimedia content, including by drafting stories and communications, grounded in research regarding developments in legal technology.
  • Document and promote LexLab events through relevant media and communication channels.
  • Build systems to streamline content by developing repeatable content formats such as founder spotlights, maintaining a shared editorial calendar, and coordinating approval of content.
  • Track and analyze engagement data to measure the effectiveness of media efforts and refine LexLab’s media strategy.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum four years of relevant professional experience in communications, journalism, digital content, marketing, public relations, or a related field.
  • Experience developing and executing communications, media, or content strategies for an organization, publication, company, university, nonprofit, or similar organization.
  • Experience creating, writing, and editing digital and social media content.
  • Experience developing content from programs, events, initiatives, or organizational activities and translating complex information into clear and engaging stories.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders, including faculty, students, staff, senior leaders, partners, or community members. Experience in the technology industry or in legal technology is helpful but not required.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and headline judgment.
  • Experience managing social or digital content for an organization, publication, company, school, nonprofit, or community.
  • Familiarity with the platforms used by professional, academic, startup, legal, or policy audiences.
  • Ability to translate complex ideas into clear, engaging content.
