Overview

At Thompson Hospitality, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We're looking for a creative, organized, and people-focused Communications Specialist to join our Employee Engagement team. In this role, you'll help strengthen our company culture by developing engaging internal communications, celebrating employee milestones, coordinating executive onboarding experiences, and ensuring our team members stay informed and connected across all divisions.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

  • Develop and distribute engaging internal communications that keep associates informed and connected.
  • Create and publish the company's corporate newsletter featuring company updates, team member stories, achievements, and upcoming events.
  • Manage the Team Member of the Month recognition program, including communications, announcements, and recognition materials.
  • Send welcome communications for all new Home Office corporate associates.
  • Prepare and distribute company-wide promotion announcements celebrating employee career growth.
  • Administer the company's Service Awards program, recognizing employee milestones and years of service. 
  • Manage and update the UKG Home Page Gadgets with timely news, announcements, recognition, and important resources.
  • Partner with Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Marketing, and Operations to promote company initiatives and engagement programs.
  • Ensure all communications reflect Thompson Hospitality's culture, mission, and brand standards.
  • Assist with planning employee appreciation events, recognition initiatives, and company celebrations.
  • Track communication effectiveness and recommend improvements to increase employee engagement.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Human Resources, Public Relations, or a related field preferred.
  • 2–4 years of experience in internal communications, employee engagement, human resources, or corporate communications.
  • Excellent written, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience creating newsletters and employee communications using Microsoft Office and digital communication platforms.
  • Experience with UKG or other Human Capital Management (HCM) systems is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
  • Professional, collaborative, and customer-service focused with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Graphic design experience using Canva is a requirement.
