Peace in Practice is a North Minneapolis yoga and mindfulness organization fiscally sponsored by Homegrown Lacrosse, a Minneapolis-based 501(c)(3) sports-based youth development organization serving 8,000+ youth annually. Peace in Practice is establishing a new donation-based, BIPOC-serving yoga studio, expanding on existing teacher training, weekly community classes, and youth programming. The organization currently lacks the fundraising infrastructure, teacher training pipelines, partnership networks, and evaluation systems needed to sustain this growth. Without dedicated capacity-building support, Peace in Practice risks losing momentum on a model that could expand access to wellness programming for BIPOC communities. This team of VISTAs will build the systems behind the studio's growth, including donor and fundraising infrastructure, a teacher training pipeline, community partnership strategy, and program quality assessment tools. Goals include a repeatable fundraising process, a documented teacher training curriculum, a growing partner network, and evaluation frameworks that keep programming responsive to community needs as the studio scales.
