Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of global communications strategies for TikTok product launches, feature announcements, and key product moments.
  • Define and evolve clear, compelling product narratives that support business priorities and resonate with a broad range of audiences, including media, creators, partners, policymakers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Partner closely with product, marketing, legal, public policy, trust and safety, and regional communications teams to ensure messaging alignment and coordinated execution across markets.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with senior product and business leaders, providing strategic counsel on communications opportunities, launch readiness, and reputational considerations.
  • Drive end-to-end communications planning for major launches, including message development, press strategy, FAQs, briefing materials, executive talking points, and stakeholder communications.
  • Lead and strengthen the communications risk review process, helping teams assess reputational considerations, identify sensitive issues, and ensure communications are accurate, consistent, and compliant.
  • Develop scalable frameworks, processes, and guidance to improve cross-functional coordination, launch preparedness, and narrative consistency globally.
  • Translate complex product features, policy considerations, and business priorities into clear, audience-relevant communications materials.
  • Provide leadership across regions and time zones, setting a high bar for collaboration, operational excellence, and execution.
  • Monitor the external landscape and emerging issues to inform proactive communications planning and strategic narrative development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Extensive product communications experience, ideally within technology, consumer technology, internet, or platform companies, with a proven track record of leading high-profile product launches and strategic communications programs in a global, matrixed organization.
  • Strong ability to translate product strategy, technical concepts, and business priorities into clear and compelling narratives, with experience drafting press materials, messaging frameworks, Q&As, briefing documents, and executive communications.
  • Demonstrated experience managing sensitive issues and reputational risk with sound judgment, discretion, and attention to detail.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and work effectively across regions, cultures, and time zones.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment while demonstrating ownership, adaptability, and resilience.

Preferred

  • Experience working across U.S. and APAC markets.
  • Experience supporting communications review or risk-assessment processes for product or corporate initiatives.
