Head of Content Operations 

 

Compensation range is $90,000-$140,000 + bonus 

This role requires 3 days on site in the Boston, MA office. 

About the Opportunity 

IANS is the practitioner-sourced intelligence engine where data, peer experience, and expert insights converge for security teams. Powered by our proprietary data, we produce cybersecurity content, including reports, presentations, benchmarks, and briefs. We're looking for a Head of Content Operations to drive the strategy and execution to turn existing processes and quality standards for our editing and design function into repeatable, AI-accelerated workflows that increase efficiency and scales with IANS’ double-digit growth. The Head of Content Operations owns the standards, the workflows, and the team. 

Key Responsibilities 

Design & Editorial Standards 

• Partner with the team to define what “great” looks like for design and editorial quality, and hold the team to it consistently across content types 

• Establish and maintain design standards and AI templates for all IANS content, deliverables and market facing materials  

• Establish and maintain editorial standards for IANS written content  

• Establish the right metrics and SLAs for continuous team improvement and client service 

Workflow & Process Innovation 

• Innovate design and editorial workflows for speed and broad-based standards adherence, using AI and automation tools 

• Lead the team in building agentic design and editorial tools that appropriately divide uniquely human from truly AI-driven tasks 

• Continuously push the envelope on how AI can accelerate and improve our outputs 

• Use data and workflow monitoring to find the bottlenecks in current production and rebuild the process around AI and automation, not around headcount 

• Refine and introduce new workflow and capacity utilization tooling 

Change Management 

• Drive adoption of new standards and workflows across designers, editors, and the Faculty who create content 

• Lead hands-on training so editors and designers build real comfort and fluency with new tools, not just exposure to them 

• Manage resistance directly: know when to push a new standard through and when to adjust pacing without abandoning the target state 

• Communicate change in a way that gets buy-in, not just compliance 

Team Leadership 

• Oversee a team of 3-5 designers and 3-5 editors 

• Set priorities, workload, and performance standards across both disciplines 

• Build a team that ships faster without cutting corners on quality

Qualifications 

• 5-8 years of experience leading design and/or editorial production teams, ideally inside a content, media, or research organization 

• Proven track record building or overhauling production standards and workflows, not just following them 

• Direct people-management experience across designers and editors, or a comparable cross-functional creative team 

• Demonstrated use of AI and automation tools to speed up creative or editorial production 

• Comfort operating in a fast-moving, still-evolving organization where the process itself is part of the job 

• Strong stakeholder management skills; able to get buy-in from your team, your colleagues, and leadership on new standards

This role turns it into a scaled, AI-accelerated production capability, keeping humans in the loop where appropriate, without losing IANS’ high quality bar. You'll have direct ownership over the standards and the team, and a mandate to rebuild the process around what AI makes possible now.
