Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop/Grants (60%): Manage a portfolio of foundation and corporate grants, including: researching prospects, writing proposals and LOIs, and preparing reports
  • Maintain an annual grants calendar and ensure all deadlines are met
  • Collaborate with program, finance, and evaluation staff to gather data and narratives
  • Support individual giving efforts, including: annual fund and end-of-year campaigns, Giving Tuesday and matching gift campaigns, and donor acknowledgments and stewardship communications
  • Assist with donor tracking and reporting in the CRM (e.g., Salesforce, Classy)
  • Communications & Storytelling (30%): Create donor and community-facing communications, including: social media posts, annual report and impact materials, and program one-pagers and other community education materials
  • Partner with program staff to elevate family and educator stories
  • Support website content updates related to fundraising and impact
  • Ensure messaging is equity-centered, strengths-based, and accessible
  • Collaboration & Operations (10%): Coordinate with leadership and program teams to align messaging and fundraising priorities
  • Support board fundraising and communications efforts as needed
  • Manage external vendors (designers, printers, photographers) as applicable
  • Contribute to departmental planning, metrics, and process improvement

Requirements

  • 5+ years of grant writing and/or public funding management experience, especially with historically marginalized families and communities; local Bay Area experience is a plus!
  • Strong written, analytical, and verbal communication skills.
  • Track record of working effectively with program leaders to coordinate and successfully deliver grant projects.
  • Strong knowledge base around program budgeting and operations data management.
  • Demonstrated project management skills. Ability to take initiative, establish priorities, work independently, and make progress on a variety of projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with CRMs, collaboration, research and project management tools required.
