Job Summary

Own the hands-on game day and communications workflow for a small college athletics program, balancing statkeeping, streaming, content creation, and social media while managing student teams.

  • Game Day Operations: Own the on-site operations and statistician duties, plus supervise student staff for scheduled events.
  • Content & Media: Lead writing, editing, graphics and video work for press materials and GoValiants.com across multiple channels.
  • Distribution & Governance: Oversee social channels and website updates, enforcing AP style and standard brand practices.

Job Description

  • Game Day Operations: Assist the Director of Athletic Communications with NCAA contest statistics, game day streaming, broadcasting, scoreboard operations and supervise student staff.
  • Writing & Editing: Write and distribute press releases, game recaps and athlete features for GoValiants.com and social channels, using AP style.
  • Graphic Design & Video Production: Create graphics and video content using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere or equivalents).
  • Social Media Management: Help oversee team social channels on Instagram, X, Facebook, Threads and YouTube.
  • Website Management: Help maintain GoValiants.com with news, rosters, schedules and statistics updates.
  • Department Contributor: Build relationships with administrators, parents, students and alumni, and support planning of major athletic and university events.
  • Duties/Additional Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with university, conference and NCAA rules; assist with game operations as needed; take on additional tasks as assigned.
  • Experience in collegiate sports information or similar setting.
  • Experience with SIDEARM/Presto and statistics platforms (StatCrew, PrestoStats, GENIUS Live Stats).
  • Proficiency in digital photography and video editing; strong AP style writing and MS Office/Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team; valid driver’s license and legal work authorization in the US.
  • Bachelor’s Degree; prior collegiate playing experience a plus.
  • On-Campus Housing (dorm style only; single room not an option).
  • Limited Meal Plan.
