Job Description

Responsibilities

Design print and digital communication materials that support church ministries, events, and initiatives.
Develop creative assets including promotional graphics, signage, presentations, brochures, publications, and ministry resources.
Maintain and protect the visual identity and brand standards of Christ Community Church.
Ensure consistency across all communication channels and ministry materials.
Stay current with design trends, branding strategies, and communication best practices.
Assist in developing and implementing church-wide communication strategies.
Create and manage content for social media platforms and digital communication channels.
Monitor communication trends and recommend innovative approaches to improve engagement.
Develop content that effectively reaches both church attendees and the surrounding community.
Support communication campaigns and ministry promotions across multiple platforms.

Requirements

Demonstrated experience in graphic design and communications.
Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro, or similar tools).
Proficiency with Microsoft’s suite of office products.
Strong graphic design, branding, and visual communication skills.
Understanding of social media platforms, digital marketing principles, and online engagement strategies.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
Some photography and editing experience, with a desire to hone your craft.
An interest and healthy curiosity in using AI to benefit efficiency in the creative process.

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Communications, Digital Media, Marketing, or a related field.
Experience serving in a church, ministry, nonprofit, or mission-driven organization.
Knowledge of printing processes, production standards, and vendor coordination.
Experience with website content management systems.
Experience in motion graphics, video production, digital marketing and analytics. Some experience in planning, filming, and editing video content, with a passion to learn and develop personal videography skills.

Beginning with a group of six families in 1984, Christ Community Church has grown to over 5000 weekend attenders, including our DeKalb Campus in DeKalb County, our Aurora Campus in southern Kane County, and our Streamwood Campus in Cook County. A significant focus on reaching spiritually lost people has resulted in over 200 new believers being baptized each year. Christ Community had humble beginnings with services held in a rented movie theater. Weekly activities now take place in our 100,000 square foot St. Charles Campus with weekend celebration services held in our 2000 seat auditorium. Jim Nicodem has been the senior pastor of Christ Community Church since its birth in 1984. Born and raised in the Midwest, Jim received his BA from Wheaton College, and his MDiv and DMin from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Jim is passionate about prayer and is the author of Prayer Coach, For All Who Want to Get Off the Bench and Onto the Praying Field.
