Job Description
Reports to: Health & Wellness Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Supervise Others: No
Primary Responsibilities: The Front Desk Clerk greets and checks in all traffic at each facility and assists residents with all aspects of the Health & Wellness department, from proper use of fitness equipment to marketing programs and services while utilizing the highest quality of customer service.
Skill Requirements:
· Must have current CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications (must be obtained within 60 days of hire).
· Must be able to market health and wellness programs and services to the residents.
· Basic skills in Microsoft Word (fliers, letters, insert pictures, create documents) and Excel.
· Previous experience in Health & Wellness arena preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Maintain a personal commitment to meeting the needs of residents and guests.
· Understands and comprehends all the operational procedures for the front desk fitness facilities.
· Dresses professionally, according to the current dress code standards with gym appropriate footwear.
· For Fitness Areas: Participates in and has a basic knowledge of the proper use of all of the fitness equipment. Is able to assist residents when asked at a basic level. Attends fitness orientation and retains information learned. Logo bldg must know how to operate the ball machine and have a basic understanding of the game of tennis.
· Understands and can relay information concerning specific community rules pertaining to the fitness department, pool and spa rules and related areas.
· Maintain a positive attitude at all times when working with residents.
· Serve as a role model by leading and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
· Serve as a knowledgeable resource for all facets of community life.
· Completes accident report for any injuries incurred during shift.
· Meets and greets all guests entering the Fitness Center.
· Performs point-of-sale operations for any fitness charges via Etrak system.
· Light cleaning, organizing and straightening up of pool chairs.
· Makes sure that assigned area is free of trash and orderly.
· Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
· Capable of working extended hours, to include evenings, weekends and holidays at all managed fitness locations as necessary.
· Able to see well enough to read faint or partially obscured writing or printing, with corrective lenses if needed.
· Position involves sitting, standing, stooping, kneeling, pushing, shoving, lifting, carrying and moving objects that can weigh up to 25 lbs. This movement can occur throughout the day.
· This position will alternate between working indoors in a controlled climate and with proper lighting, to an outdoors setting with variable climate and lighting.
· Must be able to interact with all types of individuals, be mentally alert, detail oriented, and with good reasoning skills.
· Employee must be able to physically or verbally demonstrate proper usage of physical exercises by using fitness equipment or by doing functional fitness training that may include using props and must be able to get up and down from the floor. While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to fingers; reach with arms and hands; use of feet and legs, and must be able to hear and speak clear English.
· Must have finger dexterity for typing/using a keyboard.
Environmental Requirements
· Must be able to work on more than one assignment at a time with frequent interruptions, changes and delays. Must be able to remain focused and work effectively, efficiently, and cheerfully under such circumstances. For safety reasons, employee must remain alert to working conditions and aware of safety, health, and environmental concerns.
· Must be able to work effectively and cheerfully in an environment which may be stressful due to adversarial situations resulting from the proper performance of duties.
