Job Summary
The FLEX Director, Growth Intelligence, serves as the Business Analytics lead supporting Marriott's enterprise growth agenda. This role increases Marriott's ability to identify, evaluate, prioritize, launch, scale, and optimize growth opportunities across their lifecycle through fact-based insights, commercial analysis, and strategic decision support.
The role supports opportunities from initial concept through successful market integration, helping establish performance frameworks, monitor ramp-up, identify risks and opportunities, and ensure growth initiatives are positioned for long-term success before transitioning into steady-state operational management.
Working across Growth, Commercial, Brand, Development, Operations, and Customer Intelligence teams, the Director transforms emerging opportunities into actionable business recommendations that improve Marriott's ability to grow efficiently and effectively. The role serves as the primary Business Analytics representative supporting enterprise growth initiatives and commercial strategy workstreams, helping leaders evaluate opportunities and improve commercial performance across brands, channels, partnerships, adjacencies, and new business ventures.
This position combines strategic thinking, commercial acumen, analytical rigor, and intellectual curiosity to help ensure growth decisions are informed by a comprehensive understanding of customer demand, market dynamics, competitive landscapes, and business performance. The role acts as a bridge between emerging growth opportunities and Marriott's broader intelligence ecosystem, helping convert exploratory concepts into scalable analytical capabilities and repeatable decision frameworks.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Required
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, Economics, Marketing, Hospitality, Strategy, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 8+ years of experience in business analytics, strategy, management consulting, commercial strategy, business development, corporate strategy, or related disciplines
  • Demonstrated experience translating complex business questions into actionable insights and recommendations that influence strategic decision-making
Preferred
  • Experience supporting growth strategy, commercial strategy, business development, new business ventures, partnerships, or market expansion initiatives
  • Experience within the hospitality, travel, loyalty, consumer, or related industries, or demonstrated ability to quickly develop expertise in complex industry ecosystems
  • Experience partnering with senior executives and cross-functional leadership teams to evaluate investments, growth opportunities, and strategic initiatives
  • Experience working within Agile product teams, pods, or cross-functional delivery models that bring together business, analytics, technology, and product stakeholders
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
  • Identifies, evaluates, and prioritizes potential growth opportunities across Marriott's portfolio of brands, businesses, and customer segments
  • Develops fact-based assessments of customer demand, competitive dynamics, and commercial viability to support growth-related decisions across global markets
  • Supports the development of business cases, investment recommendations, and strategic prioritization frameworks for enterprise growth initiatives
  • Partners with stakeholders to evaluate opportunities involving new brands, strategic partnerships, emerging business models, market expansion efforts and adjacent growth opportunities
  • Assesses emerging opportunities through customer, commercial, operational, financial, and strategic lenses to inform decision-making
  • Supports growth initiatives throughout their lifecycle from opportunity identification through launch, ramp-up, scaling, optimization, and transition to steady-state business ownership
  • Establishes reusable performance frameworks, success metrics, and measurement approaches that enable leaders to evaluate growth initiatives consistently and effectively
  • Monitors initiative performance, identifies opportunities and risks, and translates findings into actionable recommendations for business leaders
  • Serves as the primary Business Analytics representative supporting enterprise commercial strategy workstreams and growth-related initiatives
  • Translates strategic business questions into analytical frameworks, compelling fact bases, and actionable recommendations
  • Partners across Growth, Commercial, Brand, Development, Operations, Finance, and Customer Intelligence teams to align diverse perspectives and inform growth decisions
  • Collaborates with Customer Intelligence, Luxury Intelligence, Voice of Customer, Traveler Intelligence, and other intelligence disciplines to create a connected view of growth opportunities and outcomes
  • Develops scalable intelligence frameworks, methodologies, and decision-support capabilities that improve Marriott's ability to make repeatable, evidence-based growth decisions
  • Communicates complex analyses and strategic recommendations to senior leaders in a clear, concise, and business-relevant manner
  • Stays informed on industry trends, competitive developments, emerging travel behaviors, and shifts in consumer demand to identify opportunities that may influence Marriott's future growth trajectory
