Position: Fee Motion Attorney - Direct Hire or Contract-to-Hire

Location: 100% remote

Compensation: $130,000 - $150,000 commensurate with experience

A highly specialised litigation firm is seeking experienced Fee Motion Attorneys to play a central role in drafting, opposing, and arguing attorneys’ fee motions in complex California litigation matters.

This is a high‑impact position focused on maximising fee recovery in both state and federal courts, with the opportunity to manage a specialised caseload while collaborating with a dedicated fee motion support team.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft and file detailed, well-supported motions for attorney fees in California state and federal courts
• Prepare persuasive replies to oppositions with strong legal analysis
• Argue fee motions at hearings, including lodestar calculations and responding to judicial inquiries
• Apply statutory fee shifting provisions, including multiplier and enhancement requests
• Work closely with internal support teams to collect time records, declarations, and supporting documentation
• Manage and track a high-volume docket of deadlines and assignments
• Independently manage fee-related litigation matters and meet firm deadlines

Required Qualifications

• Active California Bar license, in good standing
• 4+ years of litigation experience with direct experience drafting, opposing, and arguing attorneys’ fee motions
• Strong command of California fee‑shifting statutes, federal lodestar methodology, and multiplier arguments
• Exceptional legal writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills
• Highly organised, deadline-driven, and comfortable handling a high-volume caseload
• Tech-savvy with experience using case management and billing/timekeeping systems

Preferred Experience

• Consumer protection, Lemon Law, or complex civil litigation experience
• Significant oral argument experience, particularly in motion or fee-related hearings
