Job Description
About Channel Key
Channel Key is the commerce acceleration agency built for brands navigating an increasingly complex digital landscape. Originally founded by Amazon sellers, we bring a performance-first mindset to everything we do—combining deep expertise with strategy, creative, advertising, analytics, and operational excellence across marketplaces, retailers, D2C, and discovery platforms.
About the Role
Channel Key is seeking an eCommerce Catalog Specialist to own the health, accuracy, and day-to-day operations of our clients' product catalogs across Amazon and key retail partners. This is an execution-focused role at its core: you are the person who keeps listings live, accurate, and performing—catching issues before they impact discoverability or conversion, pulling SKU/ASIN-level reporting, and surfacing structured insights that support channel strategy. You will also support inventory visibility by pulling platform data, maintaining tracking files, and providing replenishment recommendations based on established formulas and internal workflows.
This is a strong launchpad for a career in eCommerce operations. You'll develop deep platform expertise across Amazon Vendor Central, Seller Central, and Walmart Supplier Center while working closely with a Project Manager and broader channel team.
What You'll Be Doing
Reporting & Data Management:
- Pull and maintain regular SKU/ASIN-level performance reports covering sessions, conversion rate, glance views, BSR, Buy Box %, units sold, advertising performance, and inventory availability.
- Build and manage tracking spreadsheets in Excel or Google Sheets to monitor catalog health across the portfolio.
- Generate returns reports and flag recurring patterns that may signal listing, content, or product quality issues.
- Aggregate data from Marketplaces, and third-party tools into clean, actionable summaries.
- Deliver recurring reporting to the Project Manager, Channel Strategist, and Marketing Strategist on a weekly and monthly cadence.
Inventory & Fulfillment Data Support
- Pull and maintain inventory reports across Amazon Vendor Central, Seller Central, Walmart Supplier Center, and other relevant retail platforms.
- Monitor inventory availability, sell-through, inbound status, stranded inventory, and stockout risk using established internal reporting templates.
- Flag ASINs/SKUs at risk of stockout, overstock, or fulfillment disruption to the Project Manager with supporting data.
- Support FBA shipment creation by preparing required data, creating shipment plans when directed, monitoring inbound shipment status, and flagging receiving issues or discrepancies.
- Maintain inventory and shipment tracking documents to ensure internal teams have current visibility into replenishment status and risks.
Catalog Integrity & Variation Management:
- Monitor and maintain accurate catalog data including titles, bullets, descriptions, images, attributes, and backend keywords across all ASINs and centralized internally.
- Manage parent-child variation structures—create, update, and fix variation relationships using flat files or direct catalog edits in Vendor/Seller Central.
- Conduct regular catalog audits to identify suppressed, stranded, inactive, or miscategorized listings.
- Ensure product attributes (size, color, material, unit count, etc.) are complete, accurate, and consistent with packaging and brand guidelines.
- Maintain a catalog change log to track updates, corrections, and version history across SKUs in Confluence
Platform Operations & Listing Issue Resolution:
- Execute day-to-day operations in Amazon Vendor Central, Seller Central, and Walmart Supplier Center—including listing creation, updates, and bulk flat-file uploads.
- Support FBA shipment creation and monitoring, including preparing shipment data, creating shipment plans when directed, tracking inbound shipments, and flagging delays, receiving issues, or discrepancies.
- Identify and resolve Andon Cords, listing errors, suppression notices, content overrides, and compliance flags through platform tools and Amazon support case management.
- Monitor account health dashboards and performance notifications; escalate critical issues to the Project Manager with context and a recommended resolution path.
- Manage new item setup (NIS) submissions for product launches, ensuring all required attributes and content are complete and compliant with retailer requirements.
- Use Brand Registry tools to protect and manage listing content against unauthorized third-party changes.
Discoverability & Conversion Issue Identification:
- Audit listings for discoverability gaps—missing content, miscategorized browse nodes, and incomplete attributes that suppress search ranking.
- Flag conversion issues based on performance data: low CVR relative to category benchmarks, high return rates, negative review trends, or missing content elements.
- Compare listings against competitor benchmarks to identify gaps in content completeness or keyword coverage.
- Track listing health scores and digital shelf compliance metrics; flag underperforming ASINs for prioritized review.
Insights & Strategic Support:
- Compile findings from catalog audits and performance data into clear, structured summaries for the Project Manager and channel team.
- Identify trends across the catalog—categories with high suppression rates, ASINs consistently underperforming on CVR, or variation structures causing shopper confusion.
- Support the broader eCommerce team with ad hoc data pulls, competitive lookups, and catalog research as needed.
- Proactively flag platform policy changes, algorithm updates, or retailer requirement changes that could impact catalog performance.
What You Bring to the Table
- 1–2 years of experience in Amazon, eCommerce, catalog management, retail operations
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets—pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data sorting and filtering.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a low tolerance for listing inaccuracies.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple SKUs, tasks, and deadlines simultaneously.
- Clear written communicator—able to summarize findings and flag issues concisely.
- US-based with the ability to work standard US business hours.
- Experience with flat-file uploads or bulk listing management in Amazon
- Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Kapoq, and Kantata
- Basic understanding of Amazon SEO and keyword principles as applied to product listings is a plus.
