Job Description
Responsibilities
- Conduct door-to-door canvassing in assigned neighborhoods to introduce our organization’s initiatives and gather community feedback
- Engage in face-to-face conversations with residents using conversational engagement techniques to inform and motivate action
- Utilize mobile devices to record interactions, update contact information, and track outreach progress efficiently
- Promote fundraising campaigns or community programs with enthusiasm and professionalism
- Build rapport with diverse community members, demonstrating excellent communication skills and cultural sensitivity
- Manage outdoor work environments confidently, walking through neighborhoods for extended periods while maintaining high energy levels
- Negotiate with residents to encourage participation or donations, ensuring respectful and positive interactions at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience in field sales, canvassing, or community outreach preferred; supervisory experience is a plus
- Strong marketing background and customer service skills to effectively communicate our message
- Experience with outdoor work environments and walking as the primary transportation method during outreach efforts
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued to connect with diverse communities
- Excellent face-to-face communication skills coupled with active listening and negotiation capabilities
- Familiarity with mobile devices for data entry and communication purposes
- Demonstrated ability to engage communities positively through telemarketing or door-to-door efforts
- Prior experience in fundraising or community engagement initiatives is advantageous
