Job Description
Reports To: Director of Donations Growth and Development
Department:  Donations
FLSA Status: Exempt
Travel 50%-75% of the time to pursue growth opportunities and work with the Manager, Field Operations in various markets.
Position Purpose and Objectives
The Donations Growth and Development Manager (DGDM) will serve as a representative for America’s Thrift Stores focused on expanding donated thrift supply through various initiatives; securing and managing high volume accounts, donation locations, and fostering partnerships with our charity partners to drive sustained growth across our company’s footprint. This role involves executing growth strategies, prioritizing key initiatives, securing donation opportunities, and capturing market share. The DGDM will collaborate closely with the Manager, Field Operations to ensure the seamless setup and service of donation opportunities. Additionally, they will lead efforts to strengthen America’s Thrift Stores’ relationships with charity partners while adhering to ethical standards and upholding the values of our partners in the communities we serve.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Achieve quarterly and annual goals as outlined by the Director of Donations Growth and Development.
- Document, report, and communicate all donations growth activities to key stakeholders.
- Secure donation opportunities from competitors, capturing market share.
- Secure high volume donation opportunities through deals with municipalities and on the secondhand market.
- Foster and manage relationships with charity partners.
- Pursue growth opportunities that maximize ROI on assets and resources.
- Expand the company's presence and market share in current and new markets.
- Work closely with the Manager, Field Operations to ensure efficient deployment of resources for new donation opportunities.
- Adhere to all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Comply with company driving policies and annual vehicle checks.
- Follow all company policies and safety standards at all times.
- Communicate effectively with external and internal customers, charity partners, and management via verbal and written methods.
- Critically assess and prioritize opportunities, resources, and strategies.
- Be responsive to internal and external inquiries, addressing questions and concerns promptly.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in business development, administration or marketing preferred.
- 3-5 years of sales and marketing experience, with a track record of self-motivated success.
- Strong prospecting and sales planning skills.
- Proven ability to interact effectively with senior business leaders, property owners, municipal officials and community figures.
- High level of energy, proactivity, and initiative.
- In-depth market knowledge.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse individuals and businesses.
- Strong research, analytical, and planning abilities with attention to follow-through.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Self-motivated with integrity and a strong sense of personal accountability.
- Successful completion of background check, motor vehicle check, and drug screen.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Physical Demands:
- Occasionally - Carrying up to 50 lbs., pushing and pulling up to 25 lbs., lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Occasionally - Walking on tile/concrete, bending, feeling, and reaching waist/overhead level.
- Continuously - Sitting for extended periods while maintaining focus and productivity. Awareness of proper posture and ergonomics to prevent strain from prolonged computer use.
- Mostly regular hours, occasionally working weekends, evenings and holiday hours as needed.
- Working environment includes inside of building with controlled temperatures.
