Job Description

Responsibilities

  • As a Communications and Social Media Intern, you will collaborate with a creative team to develop content that informs and inspires, helping create strategic, engaging communications for Disney Programs participants.
  • In this role, you will create a wide range of communications materials, including newsletters, emails, blog articles, and video content for both internal and external audiences. Strong writing, storytelling, and proofreading skills are essential.
  • You will also help develop content for our social media channels. From brainstorming and pitching ideas to bringing them to life through filming, photography, editing, and publishing, you will gain hands-on experience in every stage of the content development process.
  • In addition to writing and content creation, you will assist with administrative responsibilities and support participant events, arrivals, and other program-related initiatives.

Requirements

  • - Current OR previous participation in the Disney College Program.
  • - Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • - Strong writing and proofreading skills, with demonstrated experience in both short-form and long-form writing.
  • - A zeal for content creation and social media and a deep understanding of digital storytelling.
  • - The ability to handle confidential or sensitive information.
  • - Proficiency with Associated Press (AP) writing style and Microsoft Office.
  • - A high standard for quality and detail.
  • - A self-starter and a great teammate who can establish relationships, work well with others, share ideas, and be receptive to feedback.
  • - Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite editing and design software.
  • - Education: Junior or Senior preferred.

Preferred

  • Experience using DSLR/Mirrorless photo and video equipment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
  • Previous experience doing similar work for a college/university organization, internship, job, or club.
