Job Summary

Own the club’s PR and crisis response with a media-first spine, guiding spokesperson work and high-stakes announcements for a bilingual South Florida sports audience.

  • Media Relations & Partnerships: Build and lead the PR function and broadcast/content partnerships with a focus on national and local outlets.
  • Executive & Spokesperson Communications: Own chairman-level messaging, statements, and selective op-eds.
  • Crisis and Announcements Ownership: Manage crisis protocols and drive timing around major launches and milestones.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Media Relations & Press Manager and Broadcast & Content Partnerships Manager
  • Develop and execute the club's annual PR and communications strategy
  • Serve as primary spokesperson and media contact for FTL UTD
  • Build and maintain relationships with South Florida sports media (English and Spanish language)
  • Manage executive communications for the Chairman, including press statements, op-eds, and public appearances
  • Oversee crisis communications protocols and crisis response
  • Lead communications around key announcements: men's team launch (March 2027), fund news, facility milestones, and player signings

Requirements

  • 7+ years in PR, communications, or journalism, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
  • Established relationships with South Florida media or national sports press
  • Strong writing skills: press releases, statements, op-eds, executive communications
  • Experience managing communications during high-stakes announcements or crises

Preferred

  • Sports PR background (club, league, or agency)
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) - Univision/Telemundo relationships a major plus
  • Experience with broadcast rights or content distribution partnerships
