Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Marketing Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy to increase brand awareness and community engagement for Suncoast Blood Centers.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Executive Officer to align marketing strategies with organizational goals, ensuring growth of the donor base through targeted campaigns and initiatives.
  • Lead grassroots marketing efforts, content marketing, and other innovative strategies to organically grow the brand’s presence within the community.
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with third-party marketing agencies and consultants to support larger initiatives and execute complex marketing strategies.
  • Stay updated on the latest marketing technologies and trends, integrating them into the organization’s marketing efforts.
  • Community and Media Engagement: Serve as the primary spokesperson for Suncoast Blood Centers in media interviews, press releases, and public appearances.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, partners, and stakeholders to support donor recruitment efforts.
  • Actively participate in community and networking events to promote Suncoast Blood Centers and foster relationships that drive donor engagement.
  • Proactively explore innovative strategies to engage and cultivate relationships with potential donors.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key partners, media outlets, and industry influencers.
  • Board Interaction and Reporting: Regularly present marketing plans, promotional initiatives, and campaign results to the board of directors.
  • Provide insights and recommendations on marketing strategies to the board, demonstrating growth in the donor base and brand recognition.
  • Prepare and present reports showing the effectiveness of marketing campaigns and their impact on the organization’s goals.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Recruit, train, and manage a successful marketing team, ensuring team members have the necessary skills and resources to execute marketing strategies effectively.
  • Foster a collaborative and creative work environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Provide ongoing professional development opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and stay current with industry trends.
  • Collaboration: Strategize the use of third-party vendors and consultants for specialized marketing initiatives, ensuring alignment with the organization’s goals and budget.
  • Oversee the execution of large-scale campaigns and initiatives that require external support, ensuring all partners adhere to brand guidelines and objectives.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of third-party collaborations and make recommendations for future partnerships.
  • Brand Development and Management: Lead initiatives to strengthen and evolve the Suncoast Blood Centers brand, ensuring it resonates with the local community and supports the organization’s mission Denise? ,Oversee the development of marketing collateral, including brochures, videos, website content, and social media posts, to effectively communicate the organization’s impact.,Monitor and analyze marketing campaign performance, providing regular reports to the C-Suite and board of directors.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Licensure: None
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Director of Marketing, with a demonstrated history of growing grassroots organizations into recognized brands.
  • Ability to travel locally and regionally for community events, networking engagements, and media appearances.
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends as required by community events and media opportunities.
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Much of work done while sitting, but with more than normal standing or walking. Occasionally exerting between 20-60 lbs. of force to lift or move objects.

Preferred

  • Master's degree is a plus.
