Job Description

Responsibilities

Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy aligned with Federation priorities.
Ensure consistent brand identity, messaging, and visual standards across all departments and platforms.
Serve as the Federation’s lead communications strategist during sensitive or high‑profile community moments.
Supervise, mentor, and evaluate the Marketing Manager, Observer Editor, Advertising Manager, and Archive Associate.
Foster a collaborative, creative, and high‑performance team culture.
Coordinate workflow to ensure timely, accurate, and compelling content across all channels.
Serve as the primary media contact for the Federation.
Build and maintain strong relationships with local and national journalists.
Draft press releases, public statements, op‑eds, and talking points.
Prepare leadership for interviews and public appearances.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
7–10 years of progressively responsible experience in marketing, communications, or public affairs.
Demonstrated experience supervising staff and managing complex workflows.
Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
Strong understanding of digital strategy, social media, and analytics.
Experience with media relations and crisis communications.
Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Preferred

advanced degree preferred
Knowledge of Jewish communal life, Israel, and issues affecting Jewish communities is strongly preferred.
