Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Bring the strategy and discipline to build an integrated, data-informed B2B and B2C inbound and outbound marketing and communications plan that strengthens brand visibility, stakeholder engagement, service adoption, and measurable statewide impact.
  • Expand Colorado 811’s brand, voice, reach, and relevance across homeowners, excavators, utilities, municipalities, contractors, members, partners, policymakers, and communities.
  • Lead campaigns from audience insight, positioning, message architecture, creative concepting, and content development through launch, optimization, measurement, and executive-ready reporting—bringing the judgment to know what matters, what to test, and how to improve results.
  • Use strong storytelling, channel strategy, lifecycle marketing, automation, audience segmentation, and performance insights to grow digital, earned-media, event, community, partner, and educational reach.
  • Promote Colorado’s best damage-prevention education and conferences as can’t-miss experiences—building buzz, growing attendance, attracting partners and sponsors, and extending their impact statewide.
  • Own and advance the marketing technology stack—including HubSpot, analytics, dashboards, workflows, content operations, campaign measurement, automation, and responsible AI-enabled marketing and content tools—to create smarter audience journeys, AI-informed personalization, automated nurture paths, more relevant content, stronger segmentation, faster testing, clearer reporting, and measurable campaign performance.
  • Guide product and service launches, membership lifecycle communications, sponsorships, registrations, adoption, and revenue or cost-recovery initiatives with clear value propositions, audience journeys, AI-informed personalization where appropriate, and measurable outcomes.
  • Manage the department budget, vendors, agencies, priorities, quality standards, and performance while personally contributing to critical deliverables and remaining accountable for outcomes.
  • Develop and coach a lean team into an aligned, accountable, creative, and high-performing marketing function.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressively responsible marketing, communications, or related experience, including experience leading manager-level marketing staff and working in both inbound and outbound B2B and B2C environments
  • 8+ years of formal people-management experience, including leadership of multiple employees, manager-level marketing and communications staff, and creative professionals
  • A bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred
  • Advanced experience with HubSpot Marketing Hub or a comparable CRM and marketing-automation platform, including integrated campaigns, drip campaigns, audience segmentation, inbound and outbound workflows, AI-enabled content and personalization tools, analytics, events, vendors, data governance, lifecycle reporting, and cross-functional launches
  • Idea-rich, forward-thinking product and service marketing experience, with the practical judgment to turn strong concepts into go-to-market success through sharp positioning, compelling value propositions, coordinated launches, strong adoption, and measurable results
  • Conference/trade show, and education program marketing experience, with the ability to turn a date on the calendar into a can’t-miss experience that builds buzz, fills seats, engages sponsors and partners, and delivers measurable results
  • Demonstrated success as both a strategic leader and hands-on player-coach contributor in a lean or resource-conscious team, with the judgment to prioritize high-impact work and lead through people, vendors, systems, and standards while remaining accountable for outcomes
  • Demonstrated experience and enthusiasm using marketing and communications AI technologies, generative content tools, automation, analytics platforms, and campaign-measurement tools, with AI/content-tech work samples that show responsible use in areas such as copywriting, content production, AI-driven personalization, campaign measurement, workflow efficiency, testing, and performance improvement
  • Experience contributing as part of a senior leadership team and helping connect marketing priorities to broader organizational strategy, cross-functional decisions, resource alignment, risk awareness, culture, and companywide performance
  • Ability and willingness to travel statewide and work occasional evenings or weekends for conferences, events, and stakeholder meetings

Benefits

  • A robust employee-focused benefits package that includes employer-paid employee medical, dental, and vision premiums; an employer 401(k) contribution; paid time off; paid holidays; and additional wellbeing and professional-development support.
