Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Implement comprehensive, integrated communications campaigns with a specific focus on business, digital entertainment, and tech media.
  • Identify news hooks, trends, cultural moments, and opportunities that can create visibility for clients.
  • Own and cultivate relationships with top-tier business, tech, and trade reporters, and serve as an agency go-to for media strategy on business/tech storylines.
  • Develop and execute integrated media relations campaigns tied to new product launches, company announcements, events and other major communications initiatives, as well as executive profiles and thought leadership.
  • Lead media relations efforts and proactively pitch reporters, editors, producers, podcast hosts and influencers.
  • Counsel clients directly as a senior strategic voice, including C-suite and founder-level stakeholders.
  • Partner with account leads across consumer PR teams to identify business/tech angles within broader brand narratives.
  • Draft and refine press materials, briefing documents and message maps for high-stakes moments.
  • Track media landscape shifts (reporter moves, outlet priorities, emerging platforms) and translate them into client strategy.
  • Expertly counsel clients to help meet business goals based on a deep understanding of the media, regulatory, and stakeholder landscape; provide support in issues management when warranted.

Requirements

  • 6-8 years’ experience (a mix of agency and in-house experience is welcome) working on new product launches and company announcements, as well as corporate stories, including workplace, e-commerce, product development, customer support, consumer research, executive visibility, and thought leadership–both for scrappy start-ups and established brands.
  • Excellent strategic understanding of both traditional and modern communications, integrating strategic planning, analytics and creative to develop and execute integrated media campaigns, when relevant.
  • Strong media relationships with an emphasis on business + technology press, as well as deep experience securing opportunities for clients at top-tier business and industry conferences/events, on speaking panels, and in business membership groups.
  • Understanding of a variety of research tools and techniques and how to turn research – primary and/or secondary – into client insights, strategies, and tactics across internal and external channels to build reputation and brand trust.
  • Self-starter, solution-oriented team player, with stellar communication, writing and presentation skills.
  • Willing to both set strategy and implement, as needed; displays strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to work both independently and in a dynamic, high energy, team-oriented atmosphere.
  • Comfortable using AI-driven tools and platforms to support research, trend analysis, media targeting, content development, reporting and optimization; curiosity to continuously test and adopt new technologies.
  • Collaborative spirit, with a strong understanding of how to communicate with teams and the ability to manage internal and external (client) expectations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with proven effectiveness driving complex multi-stakeholder planning processes, driving cross-team programs to desired results.
