Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Own our website content on Squarespace โ€” write, edit, publish, and keep it current and accurate
  • Lead our website platform migration โ€” restructure content, map and preserve URLs and redirects, and protect our SEO through the transition to a modern hosted CMS with outside technical support
  • Capture and produce visual stories โ€” shoot and edit photos and short videos of programs, events, and our parks, and turn them into content that feels real and engaging
  • Be on site when things are happening โ€” attend select programs, events, and seasonal moments (including some evenings and weekends) to capture content firsthand
  • Build and maintain a photo and video library โ€” so the District has organized, ready to use visual assets season to season
  • Tell our story across social media โ€” turn program information into posts, short videos, and carousels that residents actually want to read and share
  • Promote programs and drive registrations โ€” coordinate email and program promotion through ActiveNet and Squarespace's built in tools; work within our registration system to support enrollment and customer service
  • Apply practical, everyday SEO โ€” page titles, headings, descriptions, and keyword aware writing that helps people find us
  • Keep our content accessible and on-brand โ€” write accessible content (including alt text and video captions) and maintain a consistent, warm brand voice across every channel
  • Track what's working โ€” use site and social analytics to see what drives participation, and adjust

Requirements

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years prior professional experience in marketing, communications, or a related field preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Status: Part-Time, Permanent (Onsite)
  • Physical Considerations โ€” While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, twist, and use their hands. The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop and perform similar body movements. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move publications and marketing collateral up to 25 pounds.

Preferred

  • Squarespace strongly preferred
  • experience migrating a site from one platform to another is a significant plus
  • Visual storytelling skills โ€” comfortable shooting and editing photos and short video for social (phone or basic gear is fine) using tools like Canva, CapCut, or Lightroom.
