Job Summary

Own content strategy and execution across video, social, and newsletters; manage editorial calendars, partnerships, and audience growth while tracking performance and collaborating with editorial, product, and sales.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Research and identify key audience segments and platform-specific strategies
  • Produce and publish content across digital channels including long-form video, short-form video, social media, newsletters, and website
  • Develop and manage editorial calendars for social and digital content
  • Contribute to digital media campaigns that drive awareness, engagement, and subscriptions
  • Monitor performance metrics and adjust content strategies accordingly
  • Collaborate closely with editorial, product, and sales teams
  • Stay up to date on digital trends and platform changes
  • Participate in company-wide initiatives as appropriate
  • Conduct a full audit of our social media presence
  • Support community building efforts by responding to comments, DMs, and surfacing UGC

Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Knowledge of general business productivity tools
  • Demonstrated success growing and engaging a social audience, especially on Instagram and TikTok
  • Demonstrated experience editing videos for social media, including longer form video for YouTube
  • Strong understanding of current trends in social video, bookish internet culture, and content strategy
  • Excellent writing skills with a sharp, adaptable voice
  • Experience with basic design tools and scheduling tools (bonus: experience with Canva and CapCut)
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Self-starter who thrives in a collaborative, creative environment
  • Bonus: Experience in book publishing, literary media, or a deep personal interest in books and reading
