About Public Health Beyond Borders, Inc.
Public Health Beyond Borders (PHBB), Inc. is an early-stage non-profit that empowers students to make a global health impact. We do this through health education workshops that are tailored to the unique needs of our partner communities, as well as global health-focused strategic advocacy.
Since the founding of PHBB-UMD in 2013 at the University of Maryland, nearly 1,000 students, faculty, and graduate students have contributed towards 14 international trips and reached over 3,500 community members. Public Health Beyond Borders officially incorporated as a 501(c)3 in June of 2021. Current PHBB, Inc. projects are located in Peru, Sierra Leone, India, Kenya, and locally in College Park, Maryland, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
In the near term, the organization is looking to scale up through partner chapters at large U.S. universities, international chapters, and new partnerships with local communities.
