Job Description
Summary of Position:
The Development Specialist, Individual Giving reports directly to the Chief Development Officer with guidance from the Manager, Development to support development activities, specifically but not limited to our individual giving and peer to peer campaigns. Major responsibilities include implementing donor and fundraiser outreach, solicitation and engagement that contributes to meet /exceed revenue and engagement goals. This position is remote with occasional required travel to the IDF office in Hanover, MD, and for conferences or events.
Position Responsibilities:
Essential functions and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Raises $500,000 Annually
o $200,000 from peer-to-peer campaigns (Walk and Do-It-Yourself) 70% current donors, 30% newly acquired donors.
o $300,000 annually from individual giving campaigns (mid-level donors, monthly donor and matching gifts)
· Executes strategy for individual giving areas to achieve revenue goals by increased giving from existing donors, attracting past and new donors from all sectors of the community and providing guidance and support.
· Support and coordinate communications for peer to peer and individual campaigns working closely with Manager, Development and Development Operations Coordinator
· Utilizing Donor Search and other tools to prospect, cultivate and grow monthly and mid-level donors to drive growth in unrestricted revenue.
· Supports Peer to Peer campaign through the management of:
o Stewardship of mid – level fundraisers
o Prospect research and outreach
o Providing donor support and managing calls that come into the office for development.
· Supports our Peer to Peer campaigns as a member of the development team attending and providing a day-of-event support and assistance as needed.
Education:
· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
Experience:
- 1-3 years of proven experience in stewarding donors and or fundraisers, increasing revenue to achieve goals
Technical Requirements:
Proficiency in the following software programs is necessary for this role:
· Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
· Internet Browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer)
· Customer relationship management (CRM) software
Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
