THE ROLE

Insomnia is looking for an experienced Creative Producer to turn creative briefs into fully executed campaigns & photo/videoshoots.

The Creative Producer will own the practical execution, including building the team, casting talent, securing locations, creating the production plan, and ensuring everything required for the shoot is ready and delivered on time.

This is a hands-on role for someone who can receive a creative brief and independently figure out how to make it happen.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIESCreative Planning & Production Management
  • Own creative productions from approved brief through final asset delivery.
  • Translate creative briefs into production plans, budgets, schedules, deliverables, and approval timelines.
  • Partner with the Creative Director + Managers to confirm scope, feasibility, creative requirements, and production approach.
  • Maintain and update the production calendar.
  • Identify production risks and budget concerns early, presenting backup or reduced-budget options when needed.
Casting, Locations & Team Building
  • Source and present strong model casting options (could be 10+).
  • Manage castings, fittings, model holds, bookings, rates, usage terms, releases, and payments.
  • Research, present, scout, and secure locations aligned with the creative direction.
  • Build and book the full production team, including photographers, videographers, stylists, glam, set designers, digital technicians, assistants, and production support.
  • Source and manage studios, equipment, props, furniture, vehicles, permits, insurance, rentals, and external production vendors.
Shoot Preparation & On-Set Execution
  • Build detailed call sheets, crew lists, contact sheets, production schedules, movement plans, and run-of-day documents.
  • Create a complete deliverables matrix covering campaign, website, PDP, email, paid media, social, wholesale, retail, PR, and video requirements.
  • Own product and sample readiness, including sample tracking, fittings, tailoring, steaming, and shot-list outfit pairings.
  • Coordinate travel, accommodations, transportation, parking, catering, equipment, and production home bases when required.
  • Lead production logistics on set, track required shots and deliverables, manage schedule changes, and resolve issues so the creative team can focus on directing.
Post-Production, Rights & Creative Operations
  • Own the post-production schedule across selects, retouching, editing, color, sound, graphics, revisions, approvals, and final exports.
  • Coordinate post-production vendors, consolidate internal feedback, manage versions, and ensure final assets meet creative and technical standards.
  • Negotiate and track contracts, releases, licenses, usage rights, territories, media, exclusivity, buyouts, and expiration dates.
  • Manage final asset organization, naming conventions, version control, archiving, rights documentation, and handoff to internal teams.
  • Maintain talent and vendor databases, track budgets and invoices, conduct production postmortems, and continually improve production systems and templates.
THE ENVIRONMENT
  • Highly collaborative, in-office creative environment.
  • Frequent photoshoots, fittings, casting sessions, and creative reviews.
  • High expectations for organization, responsiveness, taste, and execution.
  • Team is deeply involved in fashion, music, photography, and internet culture.
  • Some early mornings, long shoot days, weekend shoots, and domestic or international travel may be required.
REQUIREMENTS
  • 4-5+ years of experience in creative production at a fashion company.
  • Please apply only if you have worked at a fashion company.
  • Again, please apply only if you have worked at fashion company (do I have to type this again).
  • Demonstrated experience independently producing fashion campaigns and editorial photoshoots.
  • Strong visual judgment and understanding of fashion imagery.
  • Strong network of Los Angeles models, photographers, studios, locations, and model agencies.
  • Experience managing casting, crew bookings, locations, permits, production insurance, budgets, and shoot logistics.
  • Ability to manage multiple productions and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Comfortable negotiating rates and managing external vendors.
  • Highly resourceful and able to find solutions without waiting for step-by-step direction.
  • Must be in LA and willing to commute to DTLA office.
SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE
  • Creative briefs are translated into clear, executable production plans.
  • Strong casting, location, and crew options are presented without extensive prompting.
  • Shoots begin fully prepared, organized, and on schedule.
  • The Creative Director is able to focus on directing rather than solving production logistics.
  • Campaigns stay within budget and required assets are delivered on time.
  • Production problems are anticipated and resolved before they affect the final creative.
