Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Internal communications: Content creation, review and deployment coordination for a variety of internal items. Key responsibilities: Partner with business line and departmental leaders as well as project teams to assess communication needs and develop change communication plans and supporting materials that drive employee awareness, understanding and adoption.
  • Steady development of company-wide messaging from executives or departments
  • Internal talking points and FAQs to support our teammates in fielding customer inquiries
  • Coordination of content and logistics for monthly companywide calls
  • Support enhancements to and updating of company intranet
  • External communications: Content creation, review and deployment coordination for a variety of customer-facing change communications and community-facing promotional and informational materials in coordination with Marketing. Content and format are tailored to specific audience to ensure the optimal delivery of important information and can include:
  • Development and support on letters, emails, talking points, webpage content and more for customer change communications
  • Assistance with project management and writing support on community report
  • Public relations: Supports the Director of Investor Relations and Corporate Communications in managing our media relationships, both proactively and reactively, as well as seeking opportunities for promotion of our brands. This includes: Press release development Provide PR to support key business lines, including through thought leadership and talking points development, media pitching and staffing interviews as needed Community event support, including talking points development, logistical planning and attendance as needed Maintaining media contacts, coverage reports and communications archives.
  • Additional support as needed: Assist the Director of Investor Relations and Corporate Communications in preparing and editing other material as needed, in addition to maintenance of corporate communications planning calendar and quarterly KPI reporting.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree
  • Prior Experience: 3+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, marketing or related field. Experience in financial services a plus.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills: Excellent written communication skills with proficiency in grammar, punctuation and spelling. Ability to modify tone and approach based on the audience (internal vs. external, customer vs. investor, etc.) and concisely convey complicated information in a simple and easily digestible manner.
  • Excellent attention to detail: Ability to track critical facts and ensure the precision and accuracy of communications based on provided information. Ability to collaborate with Legal, Risk and executive partners and accurately incorporate feedback and edits.
  • Communication planning and strategy: Ability to execute near-term priorities with understanding of long-term organizational goals and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Strong collaboration: Ability to work with multiple stakeholders at all levels of the organization and pull together many voices on a project for the optimum outcome for our brands.
  • Project management: Ability to manage a project involving multiple stakeholders and ensure all major milestones are met to hit hard deadlines. Requires strong organizational and coordination skills, ability to map out tasks and dependencies and forecast time needed for certain steps.
  • PowerPoint: Adept at developing and formatting presentations in PowerPoint for both internal and external use.
  • Physical Requirements: Able to regularly sit for prolonged periods of time. Able to travel occasionally. Extensive computer usage is required.

Preferred

  • Experience in financial services a plus.
  • Prior experience in corporate communications, public relations, marketing or related field.
