Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Lead Amgen’s corporate social media strategy, channel roadmap, and operating model.
  • Advise on audience behavior, platform trends, digital culture, AI, and reputational risks.
  • Translate audience insights into effective content, channel, and engagement strategies.
  • Drive social-first storytelling, content strategy, and paid/organic distribution.
  • Integrate social media into enterprise communications, executive thought leadership, and major corporate initiatives.
  • Lead the employee social ambassador program and strengthen cross-channel audience engagement.
  • Establish social media policies, governance, and compliance standards.
  • Oversee channel operations, community management, moderation, and risk escalation.
  • Support issues management and crisis communications through social insights and rapid response.
  • Lead social listening, competitive intelligence, and audience insights.

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree and 3 years of social media, digital communications, marketing, corporate communications, or related field experience
  • OR Master’s degree and 5 years social media, digital communications, marketing, corporate communications, or related field experience
  • OR Bachelor’s degree and 7 years of social media, digital communications, marketing, corporate communications, or related field experience
  • OR Associate’s degree and 12 years of social media, digital communications, marketing, corporate communications, or related field experience
  • OR High school diploma / GED and 14 years of social media, digital communications, marketing, corporate communications, or related field experience
  • Experience in social media, digital communications, marketing, corporate communications, or related field.

Preferred

  • 3 years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources
  • Progressive experience in corporate social media, digital communications or integrated communications, including experience leading complex social media programs and initiatives in biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare or another highly regulated, reputation-sensitive industry.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing enterprise or global social media strategy, governance and channel operations for a large, matrixed organization.
  • Proven ability to translate business, reputation and communications priorities into audience-first, platform-native social strategies and compelling editorial approaches.
