Job Description

  • Executes recurring stewardship and engagement communications, including scheduled thank-you messages, giving milestone touchpoints, and recurring gift anniversary reminders, applying the principle of cura personalis to honor each donor’s unique relationship with the University and support long-term donor retention and participation.
  • Manages and deploys automated and scheduled donor reminder workflows, utilizing reflective discernment to support recurring gift strategy and other time-based outreach designed to deepen constituents’ connection to Fordham’s mission and sustain long-term engagement.
  • Provides content and production support for fundraising campaigns, including drafting, formatting, and preparing email and digital content for review and deployment, ensuring Fordham’s mission is conveyed in an accessible and welcoming manner to constituents of all religious and cultural backgrounds.
  • Supports special projects, campaigns, events, and marketing pieces (e.g., parents, young alumni, crowdfunding) by assisting with content preparation, timelines, execution, and planning.
  • Sources and prepares basic campaign content by gathering stories, quotes, photos, and impact information from campus partners and internal stakeholders for use in donor communications, ensuring narratives translate objectives and goals into inspiring pieces that drive inclusive excellence.
  • Manages donor-facing administrative workflows, including monitoring the Fordham Fund inbox, coordinating returned mail and gifts, responding to donor inquiries, and escalating issues as needed in partnership with Advancement Services, approaching constituents with compassion, curiosity, and care.
  • Assists with the administration of Fordham’s online giving platform, including building and maintaining giving forms and crowdfunding pages, managing designations and recurring gift functionality, and ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a consistent donor experience, applying ‘Magis’ to drive continuous improvement.
  • Provides general administrative and operational support to the Fundraising Communications team, including maintaining templates and documentation, supporting day-to-day workflows, and bringing a spirit of reflective discernment to team planning and brainstorming discussions to help shape thoughtful, inclusive and effective communication strategies.
  • The University may assign additional related duties as necessary.
  • Collaborates with colleagues throughout the Development and University Relations division to ensure effective, efficient, and coordinated fundraising strategies and assists, where needed, in reunions, Homecoming, and other important university-wide special events.
  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 1-2 years of relevant professional experience, internships, or demonstrated transferable skills in communications, marketing, project coordination, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to engage in face-to-face and/or phone solicitations
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and professional judgment.
  • Minimum intermediate skill level in the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to set objectives and performance standards, provide constructive feedback, and achieve established program goals.
  • Experience in higher education or nonprofit development settings.
  • Experience with Marketing Cloud and/or Mailchimp.
  • Experience working with a relational database (e.g. CRM Advance, Salesforce, Blackbaud, etc.).
  • Familiarity with additional common higher education fundraising technologies (e.g. GiveCampus, ThankView, PledgeMine, EverTrue, Givezy, etc.).
