Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership in, but not limited to, internal and external communications.
  • Establish and maintain a social media presence and website content.
  • Generate e-donor newsletters, graphic designs, and other related items.
  • Collect student stories to support recruitment and development of the University.
  • Collect university success stories and/or staff stories to be used in external communication pieces.
  • Assist the Director of Development with campaigns and related tasks.
  • Assist in writing appeal letters.
  • Assist and work with the Communications work study assigned to the office.
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of the annual University Golf Tournament, Legacy Dinner/Gala, Graduation Dinner, Commencement, and other major events.
  • Work with staff and committees as needed to accomplish specialized tasks such as banquets, donor scholarship lunches, capital drives, and other events.

Requirements

  • In-depth understanding of internal and external communications.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field required; Master's Degree in management and/or higher education preferred.
  • Strong organization and prioritization skills.
  • Proficient ability to speak, read, and write in English. Proficiency in Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions with abstract variables.
  • Proven track record of simultaneously and effectively managing multiple projects. Understanding of project management and continuous improvement preferred.
  • Ability to partner with and influence others without direct authority; build consensus and collaborate across functions and levels.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, including strong knowledge and ability to partner with outside businesses and organizations.
  • Demonstrated exceptional leadership and management skills.
  • Strong sense of diplomacy and demonstrated success in developing collaborative relationships with organizational peers and outside colleagues.
