Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners, civic groups, faith-based orgs, and media to promote fostering and adoption in the five-county area.
  • Organize and track foster and adoptive parent recruitment activities including marketing, analyzing client needs and demographics, and speaking engagements to increase recruitment.
  • Partner with Community Affairs and leadership to implement and track recruitment activities including presentations, media interviews, social media, events, web-based, and earned media opportunities.
  • Conduct data and market analysis, interviews with key informants, and report findings to the Senior Director of Out of Home Care and Chief of Operations.
  • Identify potential foster homes for age ranges, special needs, large sibling groups, and special population groups.
  • Identify potential foster homes with one stay-at-home parent or retired caregivers.
  • Identify potential homes in areas where children go to school.
  • Identify potential foster parents with educational backgrounds for children who might be developmentally delayed, autistic, or have other mental health needs.
  • Develop a Recruitment Plan targeting individuals who have previously held public safety and services positions, such as former law enforcement officers and teachers.
  • Complete quarterly recruitment plans outlining efforts to target the population to the Department of Children and Families.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications Advertising, or related field and a minimum of 4 years’ experience.
  • Member of Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA) preferred.
  • Accredited in Public Relations by FPRA highly desired.
  • Experience in Child Welfare is preferred.
  • Additional years of experience may be substituted for education.
  • Ability to clear a Level II Background Screen
  • Valid Florida driver’s license and insurable by agency’s current insurance carrier
