Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships that produce meaningful results for children and families. As CK Family Services’ Community Engagement Liaison, you will spend much of your time in the community—initiating conversations, meeting new people, representing our mission, opening doors, and moving promising relationships toward referrals, foster parent inquiries, donations, resources, partnerships, and other measurable outcomes.
  • This is a visible, fast-moving role for someone who enjoys influencing action, maintaining momentum, and confidently following up even when the first response is “not now.”
  • The Community Engagement Liaison is a relationship-centered, externally focused member of the Marketing and Communications (MarComm) team and is supervised by the Chief Business Development Officer.
  • The position builds trusted community relationships, creates access to new audiences and partners, and converts engagement opportunities into measurable value for CK Family Services.
  • The Community Engagement Liaison represents CK Family Services in the community, conducts purposeful outreach, develops and maintains stakeholder relationships, and moves promising conversations toward clear next steps.
  • Depending on assignment, the position may generate referrals for children’s mental and behavioral health services, foster parent inquiries, donations, resources, partnerships, access opportunities, or other defined value.
  • Key Outputs
  • Achievement of established minimum production targets for documented referrals, foster parent inquiries, donations, resources, access opportunities, collaborations, community intelligence, or other defined value associated with assigned programs, initiatives, and strategic priorities.
  • Purposeful execution and follow-through on approved engagement strategies that produce assigned outcomes, supported by established goals, performance information, coaching, and internal resources.
  • Timely documentation and communication of useful stakeholder feedback, recurring community themes, barriers, opportunities, concerns, and other observations that may inform leadership decisions or adjustments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One to two years of experience in community engagement, outreach, relationship management, recruitment, customer service, nonprofit services, sales, ministry, volunteer coordination, public-facing support, or a related area preferred.
  • Relevant volunteer service, internship experience, community leadership, or other demonstrated experience may be considered in place of paid professional experience.
  • College coursework, vocational training, or an associate or bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, business, community development, human services, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish rapport and maintain positive relationships with people from varied backgrounds, organizations, and professional roles.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to represent CK Family Services professionally in person, by telephone, through virtual meetings, and through digital communication channels.
  • Ability to listen carefully, recognize useful community feedback, and communicate important observations clearly to internal leaders.
  • Ability to initiate outreach, move conversations toward next steps, and maintain persistent and professional follow-up.
  • Comfort working toward clear production goals involving referrals, inquiries, donations, resources, partnerships, access opportunities, or other assigned value.
  • Ability to use provided performance information, coaching, tools, and support to strengthen outreach, follow-up, and results.
