Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and appropriately leverage professional relationships with customers, clients, referral sources, service providers, community organizations, faith communities, schools, businesses, public agencies, advocacy groups, donors, volunteers, and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Conduct purposeful outreach intended to generate assigned referrals, foster parent inquiries, donations, resources, access opportunities, collaborations, community intelligence, or other defined value.
  • Represent CK Family Services professionally at meetings, presentations, outreach activities, community events, partnership activities, fundraising activities, and other external opportunities.
  • Move promising stakeholder conversations toward clear next steps through timely follow-up, relationship development, information sharing, introductions, meetings, referrals, requests, or other approved actions.
  • Develop and maintain a working understanding of the services, eligibility requirements, service areas, capacity, priorities, production needs, and engagement opportunities associated with assigned CK Family Services programs, initiatives, and strategic priorities.
  • Engage regularly with designated internal leaders and staff to understand current referral, inquiry, fundraising, resource, access, partnership, and community-information needs.
  • Work from approved engagement strategies, goals, priorities, messaging, and production targets established by the Chief Business Development Officer and supported by the Director of Community Engagement.
  • Identify and connect external stakeholder needs, resources, and opportunities with relevant CK Family Services programs, initiatives, and priorities while seeking guidance before making commitments outside established authority.
  • Listen carefully for useful community feedback, recurring concerns, misconceptions, referral barriers, access challenges, stakeholder reactions, emerging opportunities, and other relevant observations.
  • Communicate important stakeholder and community observations to the Chief Business Development Officer, Director of Community Engagement, and other appropriate internal leaders in a timely and clear manner.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One to two years of experience in community engagement, outreach, relationship management, recruitment, customer service, nonprofit services, sales, ministry, volunteer coordination, public-facing support, or a related area preferred.
  • Relevant volunteer service, internship experience, community leadership, or other demonstrated experience may be considered in place of paid professional experience.
  • College coursework, vocational training, or an associate or bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations, business, community development, human services, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish rapport and maintain positive relationships with people from varied backgrounds, organizations, and professional roles.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to represent CK Family Services professionally in person, by telephone, through virtual meetings, and through digital communication channels.
  • Ability to listen carefully, recognize useful community feedback, and communicate important observations clearly to internal leaders.
  • Ability to initiate outreach, move conversations toward next steps, and maintain persistent and professional follow-up.
  • Comfort working toward clear production goals involving referrals, inquiries, donations, resources, partnerships, access opportunities, or other assigned value.
  • Ability to use provided performance information, coaching, tools, and support to strengthen outreach, follow-up, and results.
