Community Engagement Intern

Position Summary:
Keesler Federal Credit Union is pleased to offer an internship opportunity that will provide the selected candidate with hands-on learning experience in the workings of a marketing department. It is ideal for a student interested in marketing, operations, project coordination, administrative systems, and how large organizations execute community initiatives efficiently. The intern must be able to work at least 20 hours per week with hourly compensation. Some travel may be required in support of community engagement events and activities.
Internship Overview: As a Community Engagement Intern, you’ll help drive event coordination, partnership outreach, and community relationship building. You’ll also support key administrative work, including calendar management, accounts payable, and event tracking. This role delivers fast-paced, hands-on experience in brand representation and grassroots non-profit marketing.
Intern Responsibilities:
- Assist with planning, coordination, and execution of community engagement events.
- Support event logistics including materials preparation, set-up, break-down, and on-site coordination.
- Help track event details, attendance, and post-event recaps.
- Support collaboration with nonprofit partners, schools, and community organizations.
- Provide centralized administrative support for community engagement initiatives and events.
- Assist with inventory management, supply tracking, and purchasing support.
- Coordination of invitation distribution for sponsored events, ensuring accurate tracking, timely delivery, and clear communication with internal teams and external partners.

Intern Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a college or university.
- Preferred majors: Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Nonprofit Management, Business, or related field.
- Organized, dependable, and detail-oriented.
- Comfortable interacting with the public in a professional setting.
- Comfortable working both independently and as a part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Learning and using new specialty software quickly and accurately.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexible schedule based on event needs.
